It's TMNT; What Did You Expect?

I'm shocked by the early reviews of this movie. It sounds as if the professional critics had way too high of expectations for a movie about turtles who are mutants and ninjas, and oh yeah they're also teenagers. This movie does not take itself too seriously and neither should you. TMNT started as a comic book that was a joke between two friends, and this movie seems to be in on the joke.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has everything you need: humorous banter between the turtles, good action sequences, and menacing villains. Yes, it does follow an overused comic book plot—mad villain wants to poison the city to exploit the government for money and power; nevertheless, TMNT has never been Shakespeare.

There are a few crass jokes which fail to hit the mark, the plot is nothing we haven't seen before,  and the style of the turtles and Splinter takes a bit of getting used to; however, I laughed consistently throughout the movie and left with a smile on my face. Try to remember when you were ten. Isn't this why we liked the turtles in the first place?

Purpose in Creation

My wife told me to do it. That's my story. Yet, what I am suppose to do with this blog is still alluding me. Hmm... I read a lot of geek related material, and I bug her with a lot of hullabaloo about whatever I am geeking out over at the moment. So, this is suppose to be a forum to express my opinions.

Nevertheless, the purpose of this is still a work in progress.
